As a leader in the engineering design and consulting business for over 55 years, MKK specializes in mechanical, electrical, plumbing, architectural lighting, commissioning, energy modeling, security, fire protection, building informational modeling, sustainable design, and building assessments.
As consultants, our goal is to develop a clear understanding of the clients’ needs and recommend solutions to promote their success. We build long-term relationships as a true consultant to our clients, not as just another engineer on a project. Every client and every project is unique, and we are determined to provide a solution that best meets each need. Our teams invest time at the beginning of each project to gain a thorough understanding of the scope in order to deliver high-quality results. Company History
In 1955, our company’s foundation was first laid. At that time, the firm was known as Stark & Konkel Consulting Engineers in downtown Denver. The first years were challenging ones for the company as it endeavored to gain a foothold in the emerging Denver market.
In 1959, James Konkel opened his own office as the sole principal. One year later, James McFall joined him as his first full-time employee, and by 1963, William Kimball joined the team, bringing the employee count to eight. The growth in the community bolstered business and in 1967 Jim McFall became a partner. The firm then became known as McFall and Konkel Consulting Engineers.
The company continued to experience a healthy growth and became well established in the Denver market. By 1980, William R. Kimball became a partner of the firm, completing the troika – McFall, Konkel, and Kimball.
Today, the company is known as MKK Consulting Engineers, Inc. We established our current headquarters office in the Denver Metro area in 2005 and have grown to 6 global offices worldwide. During MKK’s tenure in the engineering design and consulting business, we have constantly challenged ourselves to be the best company in our field for the benefit of our clients and our employees.
